Kurt ‘Kurt0411’ Fenech is no stranger to banter.
Often described as the ‘Maltese Zlatan’ of FIFA video games, he definitely talks the talk but does he walk the walk?
He ranked number one globally last October, and now he’s really got something to play for.
Kurt has come ahead of 20 million other players to make it through to the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final. Last year, the winner walked away with $200,000.
Even if he drops out early, he can still console himself with the cool $10,000 he won yesterday for placing sixth in another FIFA tournament in Amsterdam.
Not bad for playing video games, right?
Esports is becoming massive in Malta, with lots of gaming events and tournaments happening all over the island.
If you’d like to start training up, or just grab a quick game of FIFA or Fortnite after work, then we’ve got you covered at the Eden Superbowl, sponsored by Melita.
Eden Esports, Malta’s leader in video gaming events, is also hosting an online €1,000 final for another popular gaming title called ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’ on Sunday 3 June.
The tournament is called The Hotshot Series, and it’s powered by Pixel.bet.
