Real estate agency saves Maltese pets in need

Maltese businesses are well-known for their generosity by helping charities and good causes at home and abroad.

Some donate clothes, food, books or even manpower to help those in need.

But one Maltese company has started doing something extra special –  helping our four-legged friends.

Real estate firm Ben Estates has pledged to make a donation to save the lives of pets in need with every house it sells.

Bosses at the Iklin-based agency said they hope to make a real difference by helping the island’s animal shelters.

Henry Zammit from Ben Estates told Bay Breakfast with Daniel and Ylenia: ‘We’re huge animal lovers so we wanted to do something to help all the stray and unwanted cats and dogs who unfortunately end up in shelters.

‘We’re excited to announce our commitment to start sponsoring a dog or a cat’s life with every home sold.

‘Every month we will be giving a donation to a different shelter, together with Pet Nutrition House.

‘We’re doing this to make sure that hundreds of cats and dogs in Malta get the care they need and deserve.’

Staff from Ben Estates have already paid visits to the Tomasina Cat Sanctuary in Luqa as well as the Island Sanctuary in Marsaxlokk.
