More people in Malta donate money to charity than anywhere else in the EU, according to a survey.
The figures showed almost three-quarters of Maltese gave cash to a good cause last year, either through donations, sponsored walks or taking part in other fundraising events.
Overall, Myanmar was the most generous country in the world, with the United States second followed by Australia.
People in Iraq were the most likely to help a stranger, with a score of 81 per cent.
The study was published by the London-based Charities Aid Foundation and examined attitudes in 140 countries.
