Malta’s traffic cops have been given an upgrade.
The Police Traffic Section has taken delivery of 15 brand new motorcycles to help combat crime and tackle bad driving on Malta’s roads.
Malta’s police chief Lawrence Cutajar said the €214,000 investment provided traffic patrol officers with safe, modern, fast and easy to ride bikes.
Inspector Nikolai Sant from the Traffic Section said the new motorcycles were easier to manoeuvre than previous models.
Three of new police patrol bikes will be based in Gozo.
Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia said a fleet of 50 brand new police cars would soon take to the streets to help in the fight against crime.
