Malta’s largest charity run of 2019 has been cancelled because of bad weather.
The President’s Solidarity Fun Run was due to be held on Sunday morning with thousands of people expected to take part.
However, heavy rain and strong winds have hit the Maltese Islands, making conditions on the streets difficult.
Organisers said: ‘For the benefit of the runners and their safety, it will be postponed to a later date.’
The fun run was due to celebrate its 11th anniversary this year after being launched in 2008 by President Eddie Fenech Adami.
Money collected during the event is donated to The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
The run starts from four different locations – Rabat, Santa Venera, Paola and the University of Malta – and finishes in Valletta.
