A spokesperson for the Ministry for Health has confirmed with Bay News that Malta’s Amber List will remain unchanged for the coming week, and therefore, the following are the countries and/or airports still on the list as at today, and until at least today week, at midnight:
- Spain (Madrid, Barcelona and Girona airport)
- Czech Republic
- France (all Paris airports, Marseille)
What does the Amber List Mean?
Any traveller arriving in Malta from any of the countries listed in the above list of countries is required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 test performed no longer than seventy-two (72) hours before arrival in Malta.
Travellers arriving in Malta from any of the said countries who fail to produce such a test may be submitted to testing in Malta and may be subject to quarantine.
Random testing is in fact being carried out at Malta International Airport, and over the past week, 2 cases were found as a result of the random testing.
