Malta’s airport has welcomed its seven millionth passenger for the year.
Antonia Kudatov from Australia arrived for her very first holiday in Malta on KM 613 from Rome.
She was accompanied by Jayden Vella and was given a special welcome and presented with a souvenir to mark the occasion on Thursday.
Malta International Airport chief executive Alan Borg said: ‘Beyond being a celebration of passenger numbers, today is a celebration of what has been driving these numbers, namely the passion and commitment of the airport team and all stakeholders.
‘Given that some 3,000 individuals work on the airport campus with various entities and companies, the teamwork and coordination that go into the achievement of common goals are truly laudable.’
Mr Borg went on to thank the airport team and all stakeholders including customs, police and Armed Forces of Malta officials, airline partners and their ground handlers, G4S security officers, and retail outlet representatives for their contribution.
