Malta’s airport is preparing for its busiest Christmas ever.
The terminal in Gudja is expected to welcome to around 123,000 passengers this festive season – an increase of around 9,000 on last Christmas.
As many as 14,000 passengers a day will pass through the airport between December 23 and 30.
More airlines are flying to Malta than ever before, with tens of thousands of tourists expected to spend Christmas in the Maltese Islands, away from the cold weather and snow affecting Britain and much of northern Europe.
A spokeswoman for Malta Airport told 89.7 Bay: ‘People who will be travelling during this period are advised to be at the terminal at least two hours before their flight’s scheduled departure.
‘This will give them ample time to check in, go through security screening and enjoy the free treats available from the airport’s Christmas cart.’
Airport bosses have also unveiled a special Christmas video on social media, featuring a little girl and her teddy bear preparing for their flight from Malta.
The adorable short film also stars popular Maltese singer Joe Roscoe.
These holidays, keep your loved ones close.Wishing all our travellers a wonderful Christmas time!
