Malta welcomes first flight from Serbian city of Nis

Malta Airport has welcomed the first flight from Nis, marking the launch of the second direct connection between Malta and Serbia.

Flights to Serbia’s third-largest city will be operated by Ryanair every Monday and Friday throughout the winter season.

Being one of the oldest cities in Europe, Nis has a lot to offer to history and archaeology buffs.

From the remains of Constantine the Great’s Roman palace to buildings going back to a time when the Ottomans occupied the city, Nis is wrapped in layers of history that can be peeled back to uncover a turbulent past.

Nis is also renowned for its healing thermal baths, which are found at the foot of the impressive Suva Planina mountain range.

Being one of Serbia’s top paragliding spots and popular with skiers in the winter months, the area provides plenty of opportunity for adventurous travellers looking for an adrenaline fix.
