We may love making a mockery at the production level of our beloved ‘teledrammi’, but every year, we sit in front of our television screens, and religiously watch the latest teledramm to hit our island.
From Bahar Wiehed to L-Gharusa, we’ve watched them, and although we might not readily admit, we LOVED every, single second of it.
Now a recent post on Maltese Facebook page, Malta Dizastru Totali, asked its members which Teledramm they’d want to be remade into a Netflix series … not that that will probably ever happen, if we’re being honest with ourselves.
Since we’re being honest with ourselves, this author right here re-watches Gizelle and Evangelisti on YouTube once every two years or so because the plot twist gets her every.single.time … but enough about me and back to what really matters.
The post got hundreds of comments with everyone name dropping some of the best series that came out of this little island.
Let’s just say that some got mentioned way more than other. So without further ado, here’s a list of the Teledrammi Malta would love to see remade into a Netflix series.
Also, SPOILER ALERT!
Name one better actress than Gemma Portelli … it’s ok … I’ll wait.
Let’s be honest with ourselves. There is no actress in the world, who could play the role of Goma better than Gemma Portelli, but we’d love to see Netflix try!
With the amount of plot twists this one has, Netflix would have a field day!
Dejjem Tieghek Becky
The feel good Netflix series to watch when you’re feeling blue. We’d just hope that the intro song would still have Hooligan rapping in it, because that sigla is a banger!
Full House would have absolutely nothing on a Netflix version of Malta’s beloved Simpatici. All the world would be singing along to: ‘Tkellimni xejn!!!”
Just make this happen. Please.
A series about women’s struggle in society and women standing up for women when push comes to shove? Yes, please!
Petition to let Taryn play Lydia in the Netflix version of this!
Which Maltese teledrammi do you think should be made into a Netflix series?
