In the most recent report made by the The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021 encompasses a total of 53 nations

 

 

With only 8.3 liters of pure alcohol drunk per capita in 2019, Malta placed 2nd lowest.

 

Italy has ranked the lowest consumption within the reported at just 8.0 liters per capita

 

In the report, no nation has an annual per capita consumption of less than five litres of pure alcohol.

 

In fact, only five countries have an annual per capita intake of less than ten litres, these being Italy, Malta, Croatia, Sweden and the Netherlands.

 

The report also highlighted the frequency of daily alcohol consumption in the EU, with the average being 8.4% drinking everyday.
