Malta ranked among the world’s best places to be a child

Malta has been ranked among the best places in the world to be a child.

Malta came 19th out of 172 countries – ahead of the United States, Singapore, Russia and Qatar, according to a new study.

The End of Childhood Report ranked nations from best to worst in an effort to explore the main reasons why childhood comes to an early end in certain places.

Children in Niger are at the highest risk of having their childhood cut short, said Save The Children.

Norway and Slovenia shared the top ranking as the best places to experience childhood.

Italy came sixth overall, with Britain ranked seven places higher than Malta.
