Malta Police quiz driver after cyclist dies in crash

Police have questioned a car driver over the death of a cyclist on Malta’s busiest road.

Zoran Pavlovic, 53, died in hospital after he was hit by a Toyota Vitz on the Regional Road.

Police told 89.7 Bay the car was being driven by a 35-year-old Libyan man who lives in Msida.

The crash happened at 5.45am on Friday.

Part of the road near the new Kappara flyover was closed for almost three hours, sparking massive delays during the morning rush hour stretching from Sliema to St Julian’s, Pembroke and Bahar ic-Caghaq.
