Our beloved Maltese Islands have been ranked among the best holiday islands in Europe, as revealed by a survey conducted by KAYAK, the world’s leading travel website.
Whilst Crete and Greece ranked at the top of this survey, Malta ranked 20th out of the 70 islands in Europe.
In a statement, KAYAK explained that the ranking was drawn up after analyzing 70 islands across Europe based on seven categories – including weather, flight accessibility, hotel-related prices, restaurants, food and transportation, Covid-19 precautions, and things you can do on holiday.
These categories were then evaluated along with many other factors in order to determine which islands offer tourists the best holistic experience as well as those that are considered best suited to the specific needs of travellers, including the best holidays for travellers, families, and value for money destinations.
KAYAK added that above all, this classification aims to help tourists to choose smoother and hassle-free holidays!
The site also explained that as European travel borders reopened, the search for flights to European islands impressively increased by 11% compared to the summer of 2019.
