We have a good reason to smile in Malta today!
Malta has officially been named as one of the happiest and most generous countries in the world.
That’s according to the latest edition of the World Happiness Report, which ranked Malta as the fifth most charitable nation on Earth.
In terms of happiness, the Maltese came 22nd – well ahead of people in France, Italy, Mexico and Spain.
But Malta still trailed behind the likes of Israel, Austria, Costa Rica, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Finland was crowned the happiest country in the world for the second year in a row.
The African nation of South Sudan was at the bottom of the happiness index.
The World Happiness Report ranked 156 countries by happiness levels, based on factors such as life expectancy, social support and corruption.
