Malta is more popular than ever – and that’s a fact.

The number of tourists coming on holiday to Malta has broken another record, according to official figures.

The latest tourism data showed more than 2.5 million visitors came to Malta between January and November 2018.

That’s a massive increase of 14.5 per cent.

Tourists spent an estimated €2 billion in Malta during the 11-month period, but average spending per person dipped slightly to €817.

The National Statistics Office in Valletta said an estimated 177,000 holidaymakers visited Malta in November, an increase of 5.9 per cent compared to the same month in 2017.

It said that some 40 per cent of tourists in Malta were aged between 25 and 44.
