Maltese Chef Based In London Named As One Of Britain’s 50 Most Inspirational Individuals.

A Maltese chef currently living in the UK has been named as one of Britain’s 50 most inspirational individuals. Throughout the pandemic, Nicole Pisani provided healthy meals to vulnerable children and their families.

She featured in The Independent’s Happy List 2020: Heroes in a Crisis, which celebrates 50 people who did extraordinary things during the pandemic.

“This all started when we set up the charity Chefs in Schools to change the perception of school food. Then COVID happened. We didn’t want all our work to go to waste… we wanted to find a way to save the charity. ”

Since kids were no longer going to school during the pandemic, she went from providing free meals to kids in schools, to preparing a hamper a week for families in need.

Meals are currently being prepared in school and restaurant kitchens by chefs and other volunteers. Around 800 hampers a week are being distributed in London, and the plan is to increase them by another 400.
The sky’s the limit for Nicole. She plans on taking this initiative beyond both London and Covid. People not only suffer during Covid, but also during the holidays, where families suffer as they have to provide more than one meal.
Well done on such an amazing initiative!
