Scicluna first started playing rugby four years ago, and from then on, he was immediately hooked onto the sport and has never stopped training since. He aims to continue his journey and to eventually ‘form part of the Malta Sevens squad for the 2023 Small Nations’ games.

Despite being on the right track, Scicluna was forced to take a step back due to a shoulder injury that resulted in the tearing of the supraspinatus tendon, alongside a suspected capsular tear.

Unfortunately, an operation is Scicluna’s only solution – but due to a three-year waiting list at Mater Dei, the rugby player is trying to secure a private operation in order to make his return to the field quicker.

The operation is expected to cost €4500, which is a hefty bill to pay, especially for a young individual. Scicluna added, ‘Whatever you can give would be amazing and very much appreciated – no matter how small!’. At the time of writing, €1,495.00 has been collected.

You can donate to Scicluna’s GoFundMe page here.
