Local Music Producer LEX Sits Down To Discuss His Latest Collab With F.A.I.T.H On Malta’s Top 10 With Jake

Following his most recent collab with local girl group F.A.I.T.H, music producer LEX sat down with Jake on Malta’s 10 to discuss the collab, what he’s been working on, and what we can expect to come our way…

First off, we just had to know what working with F.A.I.T.H was like for him – and it looks like LEX is incredibly thankful that they trusted him to kick off their musical journey, or should I say Take Off?

Anyways, LEX explained… ‘I love them, it was like working with five bombs of energy, and we had to make a song that all six of us liked… But that’s what makes it so good because it passed through six filters before it even passed to Howard’.

I enjoyed that we took our time because I’m happy with the result and I wouldn’t have it any other way’, he added… So, obviously, this made us curious about any other collabs that might be in the works…

Luckily for us, LEX let us in on an upcoming collab with local band OXYGN (who also popped up on Malta’s Top 10 a little while back, by the way).

Other than that, LEX revealed that he’d love to work with Nicole Frendo and emphasised how much he’s loving the many fresh tracks that the local music scene is serving lately!

He also added, ‘I’d like to see more people who test their boundaries on their music here in Malta, to take risks and get out of their comfort zone – and this is what the F.A.I.T.H track was all about. We came out with two songs in one, we didn’t play it safe.’

With the ongoing pandemic enabling people all across the globe to slow down for a second, LEX also shared that he’s learned how so many artists rush themselves to put new stuff out and emphasised that there’s nothing wrong with taking your time…

‘I’d rather listen and be sure of a track, and have it resonate well with the world, instead of just having it do well for a week and then fizzle out.’, he explained, ‘There’s nothing wrong with allowing the song to be what it wants to be, not you have to make it like that cause it’s your sound’.

‘You choose what your sound is, and if you’re not feeling it, that’s fine! Take your time, change it, make it better, then put it out when you’re ready’, LEX added.
