Rising football star and former Mġarr United player Haley Bugeja has scored once again with the eighth goal of her debut Serie A campaign as Sassuolo outclassed Florentia San Gimignano 5-1.
Following the opening 45 minutes, the local player was deployed into the game right after the second-half kicked off, converting from the penalty spot as Sassuolo was behind by one goal to nil.
Nevertheless, Sassuolo managed to score 3 times before Bugeja won a penalty, which she took charge of to extent her team’s lead, marking her second straight goal after last week.
Last Sunday, Bugeja was on the scoresheet in 2-0 victory over San Marino. Currently, the Neroverde remain third in the Serie A standings after 17 outings collected 40 points.
Female football players now have an international break between the 5th and 13th of April, but then Bugeja’s Sassuolo will host Serie A champions Juventus in a prestigious clash.
