On Tuesday, Maltese cyclist Fabio Spiteri will take on a cycling challenge in a bid to try and break all previous records and collect money for abandoned animals.
Spiteri began this marathon back in 2015 when he cycled the distance in six days. Ever since Spiteri kept doing this challenge in a shorter time each year, and last year, he managed to finish the distance in an impressive 56 hours.
This time, Spiteri will attempt to cycle the same distance around Sicily (1000kms) in under 48 hours! This means two days non-stop without sleeping or any breaks.
If Spiteri manages to do this challenge, he will be the second-fastest cyclist in the world to cycle this distance.
Spiteri has also made various appeals on socials for more donations to help 18 animal shelters in the country. Thus far, it was revealed that he has collected more than €12,000!
