A traditional Maltese crib has gone on display in Vienna.
The life-size nativity scene, designed by Gozo artist Manwel Grech forms the centrepiece of a Christmas market in the Austrian capital city.
It was officially opened by the President of Malta George Vella.
The crib will remain on show at the Christmas Village on the University of Vienna Campus until December 22.
In recent years, it has also been displayed in Bethlehem, at the Vatican, and in Triton’s Square in Valletta.
The crib is made from fibre-glass and includes some some classic Malta symbols such as a traditional ‘luzzu’ fishing boat, a Maltese balcony and a Maltese Cross.
