Kim Kardashian spoke about the extreme diet she had to do to fit in Marilyn Monroe’s dress for this year’s Met Gala.
The reality TV star wore one of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic gowns – the “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress which was on display in Orlando, Florida at Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
Kim paired the legendary dress with diamond drop earrings and a white fur jacket. However, she exposed her secret behind wearing this dress.
Kim said that, to fit in Monroe’s dress she had to lose 16 pounds, equivalent to 7.2kg. She said: “I tried it on and it didn’t fit me. I said, ‘Give me three weeks.’ I had to lose 16 pounds down today… It was such a challenge. It was like a [movie] role. I was determined to fit [into] it. I haven’t had carbs or sugar in about three weeks.”
The dress originally cost $12,000 and was so tight that Monroe had to be sewn into it before singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to President Kennedy on May 19th, 1962.
