Jonas Blue has told 89.7 Bay he can’t wait to perform in Gozo on New Year’s Eve.
The Fast Car star, 29, is the headline act at a free concert in Victoria to welcome in 2019.
Speaking to 89.7 Bay’s Jake Cuschieri, he said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be the headlining New Year’s Eve in Gozo.
‘It’ll be my first time performing in Gozo – so that’s exciting in itself – and it’s such a beautiful island.
‘I’ve got a great set planned for the show, featuring all my biggest hits that everyone knows like Fast Car.
‘I actually remixed Fast Car because my mum really liked the original 1980s version of it and everyone knows the words too’.
With more than two billion views on YouTube, Jonas Blue’s music has been enjoyed by millions all over the world.
The producer – whose 89.7 Bay hits include Rise, Mama and Polaroid with former One Direction star Liam Payne – will take to the stage just after midnight.
Thousands are expected in Independence Square from 9.30pm for the biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations ever held in Gozo.
The concert will also feature the brilliant Gozitan band The Travellers.
Organisers advised concert-goers to leave their cars at home and take the bus instead.
Extra buses will be running to Victoria all evening.
The weather should stay dry but breezy as the clocks strike midnight, according to the Met Office in Luqa.
Temperatures will fall to around 7°C so wrap up warm for the outdoors.
