On April 5th, Warner Bros revealed that Jason Momoa had been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular video game, Minecraft.

The movie, directed by Jared Hess (known for Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre), is scheduled to hit theatres in 2025.

As part of the announcement, Warner Bros also moved up the release date for Momoa’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom by five days to December 20th of this year.

Although the Minecraft movie has been in development at the studio for some time, the news of Momoa’s involvement surprised many fans, as seen on social media.
