Jail for man who broke into Taylor Swift’s home

A man who broke into Taylor Swift’s New York City home and fell asleep has been jailed for six months.

Roger Alvarado, 22, from Homestead in Florida, was sentenced in court after pleading guilty to criminal contempt and attempted burglary.

The New York Post reported that Alvarado plans to return to Florida after his jail stint and serve a further five years on probation.

He must also complete a mental health assessment programme.

Officers found Alvarado asleep in the singer’s home in the Tribeca neighbourhood of Manhattan in April.

Police said he had also used her shower.

Taylor was not home during the break-in.

Alvarado had been arrested at the same address last February on charges of breaking the front door with a shovel.
