Is it really a Maltese Christmas without MADC’s Annual Panto?

Qaghaq tal-ghasel, mulled wine, Christmas decorations everywhere, as many pieces of panettone as you can stuff in your mouth … and of course, MADC’s Annual Panto.

No Maltese Christmas is complete without these, and with an Aladdin-themed Panto for the year of 2019, this Christmas is going to be something else.

Grabbing a classic tale and giving it a hilarious twist, accompanied by a larger-than-life performance and songs you’ll be singing along to for days to come. That’s what’s waiting for you at this year’s MADC’s Panto at MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

Get ready for an uproarious performance, in true Alan Montanaro fashion, with him returning as writer and as … yep, you guessed it, the panto’s Dame.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming Alan back to panto this year with Aladdin,” says the show’s director, Michael Mangion.

“With his many years of panto experience and, of course, his trademark comedic flair, Alan is sure to help make Aladdin the side-splittingly funny and magical adventure that we’ve all come to expect from MADC’s annual pantos.”

Joining Montanaro on stage in the stellar production will be a cast of more than 30 actors and dancers, including Stephen Oliver, John Montanaro, Alexander Gatesy Lewis, Jasmine Farrugia, Noel Zarb, Joseph Pavia, Karl Bartolo and Matthew Manfre.

While fellow panto stalwart – and former Dame – Michael Mangion will be directing, the show will be choreographed by Francesco Nicodeme, with musical director Ryan Abela, and lavish costumes designed by Isabel Warrington.
