Have you got a free morning and want to absorb some of Malta’s incredible history? Well then, we have this sorted for you.
Tomorrow morning, Heritage Malta will be organising the Historical In Guardia! Re-Enactment at the beautiful Fort St Elmo.
This parade involves around 50 re-enactors who portray an authentic event that happened regularly in Malta’s main fortifications during the rule of the Order of St John.
The re-enactment includes the inspection of the Fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order who was in charge of military affairs. Moreover, all the participating re-enactors who are dressed in époque coloured costumes will perform a military drill to demonstrate the garrison’s state of readiness.
This is the perfect opportunity to see for yourself the sheer beauty of Fort St Elmo, whilst also witnessing this rare event. Yes you read that right, RARE, because the next In Guardia Parade, after tomorrow, will be in May!
Fort St Elmo will open at 1000 hours, with In Guardia! starting at 1100 hours. The National War Museum will open at noon.
