Idle Tourism Workers Can Now Apply to Join the Contact Tracing Team

Idle workers in the tourism industry can now apply to join the Contact Tracing Team of Malta’s health authorities for the upcoming months.

This scheme which was announced yesterday by the Malta Tourism Authority in conjunction with Malta Enterprise is open to all those employees who are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 Wage Supplement.

In a letter sent to all MTA Licence Holders, MTA CEO Johann Buttigieg said that this is part of the MTA’s efforts to assist the Health Authorities in providing a faster contact tracing service.

Interested applicants need to be fluent in English and Maltese, and they must possess basic computer skills. If chosen, after an interview which could be held, the employees will still receive the €800 wage supplement, and an added €5.28 per hour.

Applicants should register their interest on [email protected] by not later than 4th November. Alternatively they can call on 2169 2447
