Malta’s Top 10 Host shared his views about the local music scene in a Facebook post shortly after he hosted this week’s show.
He said that over the last two weeks, the number and most importantly the level of songs which we have received has been overwhelming.
“I took over this show with one aim; to promote and push local music whilst at the same trying to push local artists to work harder, to up their game so that LOCALLY we could have songs which have an international sound,” Jake added.
Today, I could not feel more proud of what we’re listening to right now.
In Jake’s own words, the local music hitting the Bay airwaves is a result of outstanding artists, outstanding producers, and outstanding songwriting skills.
“All of you should continue to work even harder to reach even higher levels. The key to success locally is to leave your ego at home and collaborate,” Jake said in his post, whilst he appealed to local producers, songwriters and singers to “work together” so that they can then “achieve great results TOGETHER.”
In true Jake fashion, he also had some wise words of advice to emerging artists.
“To all those artists who have not yet reached the expected level – don’t give up. Go back home, have more studio sessions, think, spend time, hours, and effort until you’ve got a product which you could honestly feel sounds amazing. If you’re an upcoming artist reading this, not sure as to whether you’re good enough, give it a try and work hard, chase your dreams and you could be the next big artist we’re looking for.”
You can catch Jake daily with Bay’s Lunchtime Show, every Monday on Malta’s Top 10, and on Sunday with Bay’s Top 40!
