A tourist has died after he plunged from a cliff at a Gozo beauty spot.
Two people saw the man fall as he was walking at Wied il-Mielah near Gharb.
It is believed that the 69-year-old, who was from Switzerland, lost his footing and slipped over the cliff edge.
He was pronounced dead at the scene following the tragic accident at 3pm on Tuesday.
A Malta Police spokesman told 89.7 Bay: ‘Officers went immediately on site where preliminary investigations showed that a 69-year-old Swiss man had fallen from a height into the sea.
Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to help with the recovery of the man’s body.
