After months and weeks of speculation and anticipation all of us tech geeks yesterday sat down and watched the ‘Hi-Speed’ Apple Event. Here is exactly what was launched yesterday, as new iPhones and Cases were revealed as well as Apple’s latest Smart Speaker!

Let’s just say that for some it might have been a case of expectation vs reality for the new iPhones – but let’s face it, we all love new iPhones! Four new models were launched in the iPhone 12 Category – iPhone 12; iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max!

If you are the type of person who is dropping his/her phone all the time, then this is just the smartphone you need as it is stronger than any smartphone glass, which is perfect to prevent damage when it falls. It also has an A14 Bionic Chip, making it the fastest GPU, which is also ideal for high-quality games!

The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini has a resolution of 2430 x 1080 with 476 pixels per inch and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 has a resolution of 2532 x 1170 with 460 pixels per inch. The displays offer HDR support with 1200 nits peak brightness, Wide Color for vivid, true-to-life colors, Haptic Touch for feedback, and True Tone to match the color temperature of the display to the ambient lighting for a more natural viewing experience.

iPhone 12 launch: Apple promises 5G revolution as it unveils new lower-price iPhone Mini and giant triple-camera iPhone Pro

The back of the iPhone continues to be made from glass, with the two halves of the device sandwiching an aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure that comes in five colors: blue, green, black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED. Like the iPhone 12 Pro models, the iPhone 12 models offer IP68 water and dust resistance and can hold up to submersion in 6 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

All of the iPhone 12 models in this year’s lineup support 5G connectivity for faster downloads and uploads, better quality video streaming, improved gaming, and higher-definition 1080p FaceTime calls.

Apple also introduced MagSafe Accessories, which are designed to work with a ring of magnets that are built into the back of the new models. There is a MagSafe iPhone Case, a MagSafe Charger which allows you also to charge your Apple Watch simultaneously, and even wallet accessories.

As Apple did with the latest Apple Watch, it has eliminated the power adapter and the EarPods from the box of the iPhone 12, and, these must be purchased separately. All the models now come with the USB-C to Lightning Cable.

Apple also introduced the HomePod mini – a powerful smart speaker with amazing sound! HomePod mini offers a great music listening experience, an intelligent assistant, and smart home capabilities, with built-in privacy and security, in a beautiful compact design.

At just 3.3 inches tall, HomePod mini is packed with innovative technologies and advanced software that together enable computational audio to deliver breakthrough audio quality wherever it is placed. HomePod mini will be available in white and space gray at a great price of just $99.

HomePod mini is designed to work with Apple Music, podcasts, radio stations from iHeartRadio,, and TuneIn, and in the coming months, popular music services including Pandora and Amazon Music. Multiple HomePod mini speakers work together to stream music or podcasts to multiple rooms, all in perfect sync. By placing two HomePod mini speakers in a single room, a stereo pair can be created for a wide soundstage, filling the space with rich, enveloping sound.

With the intelligence of Siri, HomePod mini delivers a personalized and deeply integrated experience for iPhone customers. Siri can identify who is speaking and tailor music and podcasts to their preferences, and respond to personal requests, like accessing messages, reminders, notes, and calendar appointments, or making and answering phone calls.
