Here’s how you can avoid big queues for the Gozo ferry

The best ideas are always the simplest.

The Ministry of Gozo has proved it by coming up with an easy way to help drivers avoid long ferry queues at Mgarr.

Four live webcams have been set up around the port area to allow internet users to check how busy the ferry terminal is.

One camera covers the marshalling area past the Gozo Channel ticket booths.

The second and third look down on Shore Street, while the fourth is perched above Mgarr Road in Ghajnsielem.

The cameras operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are available at Visit Gozo.com

A Visit Gozo spokesman told 89.7 Bay: ‘The cameras are ideal for people heading to Malta. They can check how busy Mgarr is and can plan their day better rather than spending ages waiting in a queue.

‘This live webcam service has been around for a while but we were surprised that very few people know about it.’
