The search for a missing swimmer off the Gozo coast has been called off after he was found safe and well.
Kenny Davidson, 27, from Aberdeenshire in Scotland, was discovered asleep in his car in Marsalforn.
Concern for his safety sparked a major air and sea search after he was last seen clinging to a buoy in Marsalforn Bay early on Wednesday morning.
Malta Police told 89.7 Bay the emergency services were alerted at about 2am.
Items belonging to the man – including his UK driving licence – were found on the beach next to the Hotel Calypso.
An AFM helicopter was spotted flying low over the bay on Wednesday morning while police officers scanned the sea from shore.
