Malta seems to have been saved from the severe storm that was set to prevail on Wednesday and Thursday.
Weather expert Clinton Caruana explained that though the storm is turning to the southeast of Malta, its track has changed and so, it seems that Malta has avoided the worst of the storm altogether.
The storm will likely pass through the East of Malta, go to Catania, and then down, instead of going towards Sicily.
However, the storm is still classified as tropical. Caruana explained that the storm is bringing its energy from the temperature difference and from the warm seawater.
In the meantime, the wind is expected to rise to force 8 later, but as of Friday, the weather is expected to return to normal.
The storm will continue to be felt at sea and we will still have strong winds.
