Valletta is crowned Europe’s sunniest city by far

Valletta has been named the sunniest city in Europe for the third year in a row.

The Maltese capital enjoyed an average of 3,095 hours of sunshine last year – double that of Manchester.

Four of the dullest cities were in the UK: Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Manchester.

Even Reykjavik in Iceland gets more sun than poor old Glasgow.

The research was compiled by the weather forecasting website Current Results.
