A lawyer from Gozo has landed a top job in the EU.
Charmaine Hili from Nadur has been appointed by the incoming European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen.
She will be her chief adviser on migration.
The migrants crisis is one of the most important issues facing the EU.
Charmaine previously served in Jean-Claude Juncker‘s cabinet where she served as his legal adviser on migration, justice, citizenship, consumer rights and gender equality.
Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana welcomed news of the appointment by posting on Facebook: ‘Another Gozitan talent making a name for herself and Gozo. Well done Charmaine Hili.’
