People have been urged to stay away from a section of the idyllic Gozo coast after a rockfall.
Gale-force winds and heavy rain been blamed for causing the collapse at Xatt l-Ahmar.
Overlooked by Fort Chambray, the bay is popular with swimmers and boat owners, especially in the summer months.
Ghajnsielem’s mayor Kevin Cauchi urged people to stay away from the bay.
He posted on Facebook: ‘After the storm, large rocks have collapsed in Xatt Ahmar bay in the area known as tal-Inglizi near the iron staircase.
‘While we evaluate the situation, please avoid this area in order to avoid danger.
‘Thanks to councillor Larry Buttigieg and Frankie Saliba who immediatly went to close the area.’
Ghajnsielem Local Council workers have also been sent out to clear the roads in the town following the stormy weather.
