As of June, Gozo Fast Ferry Ltd will start operating a fast-ferry service between Gozo and Valletta, using two state-of-the-art high-speed passenger crafts.
The company – backed by Bianchi Group and Merrill Investments – has notified Transport Malta of its intention to offer this service after the market was liberalized. They have invested in two modern, eco-friendly, high-speed catamarans that are equipped with the latest technology to operate in full compliance with the requirements of the Port Notice issued by Transport Malta.
Each vessel can comfortably carry 300 passengers per trip and will make the journey between Mġarr, Gozo, to the Grand Harbour in under 45 minutes!
Gozo Fast Ferry Ltd is collaborating with Malta Public Transport to ensure users — including those who hold a Tallinja Card — are offered a value-added, seamless, interoperable, and fast journey to customers.
Passengers will also be able to pay for their trip using contactless bank cards, mobile phones, and smartwatches to ensure quick boarding and alighting.
Details on schedules and pricing will be announced shortly.
