A Maltese beach has been crowned one of the best in the world.
Ramla Bay in Gozo was named among the seven most beautiful red sand beaches by US-based Travel and Leisure magazine.
It said: ‘Ramla Bay lies on the northern coast of Gozo and its beachfront is coloured a burnt, orange-red, a particularly striking tone set against the electric blue sea.
‘Because it’s nestled at the bottom of a valley, Ramla I-Hamra beach is also a sanctuary for wildlife and vegetation.’
The other beaches which made the list included Kaihalulu Beach in Hawaii, Cavendish Beach in Canada, Porto Covo Beach in Portugal, Kokkini Beach in Greece, Porto Ferro in Italy and Rabida Island in Ecuador.
