Gozo attracted a record number of visitors in 2017, according to new figures.
The number of passengers crossing between Cirkewwa and Mgarr soared to an impressive 5.4 million last year.
More than 1.5 million cars also used the Gozo ferries in 2017, up from 1.3 million just two years ago.
The Office for National Statistics in Valletta said the highest number of trips was recorded in August, accounting for almost 10 percent of the annual total.
During 2017, passenger traffic from Cirkewwa was busiest on Fridays and Saturdays, while the highest volumes from Mgarr were recorded on Sundays.
