Nine-year-old twins Len and Jacob, who suffer from a rare disability, have managed to raise €4,000 through the GoFundMe page that was set up in their name.
Len and Jacob suffer from an evolving movement disorder, learning difficulties and dysphasia. It is an extremely rare degenerative disease that threatens their mobility and speech, whilst causing several other complications.
The twins even have a Facebook page, where they are described as energetic, adventurous, and curious. However, as the page shares, ‘Unfortunately, their physical impairment limits them from enjoying life to the fullest’.
Over the last few years, these courageous boys have been receiving hypotherapy and have made steady progress. Regretfully, this type of therapy – as well as another form of treatment that they require, known as hippotherapy – is not covered by the Malta Community Chest Fund.
For all of these reasons, the Len and Jacob Wellness Fund has been set up to help these little soldiers raise money. At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page has raised €4,000.
To raise further awareness, three athletes will also be running or swimming from the Mosta Church to Ta’ Pina in Gozo, covering a total of 35km.
This charity event will be taking place tomorrow. Meanwhile, you can follow this inspirational challenge through a live stream on their Facebook page!
