Gareth Bale is said to be furious after Real Madrid pulled the plug on his mega-money move to China.
The Wales international, 30, was on the verge of joining Jiangsu Suning in a staggering three-year deal worth more than €1.1 million a week.
But the Spanish club’s president Florentino Perez delivered a shock U-turn and told the Chinese Super League side they cannot have the Welsh star on free transfer.
Last week, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said ‘it would be best for everyone’ if Bale left the Bernabeu as soon as possible.
Bale has featured sparingly in Real’s pre-season training while the speculation about his future at the club soared.
And now, Zidane may well have to come to terms with including Bale in his plans for the new season.
Whether a European club will come in with a firm offer for him remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have unveiled their third Adidas football kit for the new season in a sporty green shade.
