The EU-funded Youth Guarantee Project will be launching the free SEC Preventive Classes this summer for students who will be sitting their Biology, English, Maltese, Mathematics and Physics resits in September.
The classes will be an intensive programme running for five weeks, from the end of July until the end of August.
Pupils who get a 6, 7, U or were marked absent in the five core subjects mentioned above will be entitled to these classes in both Malta and Gozo.
Students can choose to take classes in a maximum of three subjects, including a choice of one science subject, either Biology or Physics.
This is an intensive course which will demand the students’ full attention, especially those who are resitting more than one subject.
By applying for the Preventive Classes, students are not automatically applying for the re-sit exam, therefore it is important to note that one must also apply for the resit with MATSEC separately.
The application form will be opened soon after the MATSEC results are published in mid-July.
This initiative is within the framework of the Youth Guarantee and is part-financed by the European Social Fund, investing in human capital to create more opportunities and promote the well-being of society.
