Ferries could soon be operating from Balluta Bay in St Julian’s.
A proposal to build a jetty in the bay will be decided by planning chiefs next week.
The application would allow Marsamxetto Steamferry Services to run a hop-on, hop-off ferry from St Julian’s.
The company already operates ferry services between Valletta, Sliema and Cospicua.
However, some residents are concerned that the proposal would ruin the popular swimming spot.
St Julian’s Local Council, Sliema Local Council and 11 other organisations, including Friends of the Earth Malta, Nature Trust Malta, the Archaeological Society of Malta and Ramblers Malta, have objected to the planned jetty.
