An eyewitness has told of the horrific scene after a car ploughed into a group of tourists in St Julian’s.
Eight holidaymakers – from Britain, Croatia and the Netherlands – were seriously injured in the crash near Balluta Bay.
One is in a critical condition in hospital.
The car mounted the pavement and slammed into two trees before hitting the group of tourists as they were walking to their hotels after enjoying a night out in St Julian’s.
Malta Police told 89.7 Bay that a 20-year-old man from Birkirkara, who was driving the car, has been arrested.
An eyewitness, who is trained in first aid, revealed on Facebook how he saved one man’s life by giving him CPR in the street.
