Excavation And Demolition Works No Longer Allowed After 4 p.m.


Demolition and excavation work will be prohibited after 4 p.m. tomorrow November 9th, authorities announced.



Aaron Farrugia, Minister for the Environment, Climate Change, and Planning, and Chris Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Construction, made the announcement where they explained that  there will be no need for a two-hour stop in the early afternoon.


Currently, such works may take place between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., however as of the 9th of November 2021, works can start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.


According to the government, the adjustment will help minimize discomfort and noise pollution during the night.


Contractors performing such work are expected to collaborate in the organization of their separate work locations.
