The EBU has officially announced that this year’s Eurovision has been cancelled.
Talks were underway to see whether it would be possible to hold the 2020 version in Rotterdam, but it was beyond their control, due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Current participants will probably be invited to take part again next year in 2021, but with different songs. This is yet to be confirmed.
‘Eurovison contest will come back stronger than ever.’
This will be the first time in 64 years since it started, that the Eurovision song contest will not be held. Eurovision was set up to bring Europe together following the devastation that world war II brought with it.
Destiny was supposed to represent us this year, with her single ‘All of My Love.’
Perhaps we needed Eurovision this year more than ever, considering the pandemic that has hit the whole globe. Our Eurovision loving hearts are beyond broken. Until 2021.
