Ed Sheeran confirms new album is coming in July

Ed Sheeran has surprised fans by announcing a new album of collaborations due for release in July.

The singer revealed the news to his 29 million followers in a post on Instagram, and shared a teaser clip of one of his new songs, Cross Me.

No.6 Collaborations Project is due to be released on July 12.

It is the follow up to Ed’s last album Divide, which has already racked up more than 15.8 million sales worldwide.

The Lego House singer teased a new collaborations record last summer, telling BBC News: ‘I’d like to bring out a project next year that isn’t an album.

‘Something that isn’t pushed on radio. ‘Something that’s not what I usually do, that just clears the air a little bit.’

Collaborations have proved a massive hit for Ed, with I Don’t Care featuring Justin Bieber becoming his sixth number one in the charts last week.
