More than €60,000 up for grabs for Malta’s students

If you need some extra cash for your studies, here’s some great news.

The University of Malta students’ council has unveiled a new funding programme for 2018.

The KSU said around €63,000 will be available to university students this year – covering areas including research, transport, culture, sport and overseas travel.

The cash comes from a number of sponsorships, including Malta’s number one radio station, 89.7 Bay.

KSU financial officer Joseph Teuma said: ‘KSU strives for equal opportunity and an inclusive student community.

‘We have also reserved €5,000 to identify and aid students facing financial hardships.

‘Such cases are evaluated on a case by case basis and KSU will liaise with the University of Malta administration in order to ensure fair distribution.’

The Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Clifton Grima and the university rector Professor Alfred Vella, pictured below, attended the launch event.
